The South Mountain approach – "We think about our work as the cathedral builders thought about theirs. We try to think for generations, as we try to design and build for generations." (John Abrams) – includes building the cooperative itself for generations. This workshop explores how a cooperative’s culture and operations are influenced by the ages and aging of its members, and how the cooperative can work toward its own perpetuity. We’ll look closely at South Mountain Company’s experience intentionally making a generational shift to cultivate and support new leadership.
