Chris Mackin began his work in the field of worker ownership in 1978 at the Industrial Cooperative Association (now ICA Group) in Cambridge, MA. He left ICA to found Ownership Associates in 1987. Ownership Associates advises larger companies transitioning to worker ownership primarily through the use of Employee Stock Ownership Plans or ESOPs. In addition to consulting, Chris teaches at the Harvard Trade Union Program and at Rutgers University. A recent interview with Chris about worker ownership and the Occupy movement entitled Occupy by Analogy was published in The Straddler magazine.
